This is also a reflection of this odd post-industrial political strategy of the slippery slope. I hear all the time about how we can’t agree to anything because that’s a slippery slope. Seems to be that life is lived on a slippery slope and the last thing one wants to consume oneself with is fighting against biology and physics.
